Death at MACC headquarters

with 16 comments

With all Malaysians I am shocked and deeply dismayed at the death of Teoh Beng Huat, political secretary to a member of the Selangor state executive councillor, at the headquarters of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Shah Alam.

The  circumstances surrounding Mr Teoh’s death put the credibility of the government and our investigative and law enforcement agencies under a microscope. The public will expect nothing less than a full and independent investigation into how something like this could have happened.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the late Mr Teoh’s family and to his fiancée.

  2. Very sad day indeed….!
My sincere condolences to Mr. Teoh’s family & fiancee.

MACC must understand that they are NOT above the law. And now we are getting this Nazri fella “cautioning” the rakyat not to point fingers at them….!!!

We have our rights, you know…!!!
How is it that MACC “moves” so fast against all the Selangor rep & yet “NOTHING” has moved on that Toyol fella……………..???????????????????
    “His Istana…????”

Tengku, I think there’s NO fair play on whatever has been done. So much of “double standards”….!!!
We are not blind & deaf to all these.
We want answers & yet we are not getting any…!

That fella is getting away with the “Istana” issue by creating a “diversion”…..!!!
And many “other” issues that are or has been wiped out…!!

Tengku…, to me you are “fair play”. Others are hiding behind the Iron Curtain…!!!

How can I “not” be upset with what’s going on in the whole of Malaysia….???
The Goverment & the Opposition are “the same”……!!!

    So………, “suffer” the rakyat!!!!!!!!!

  3. I’m very, very, very sad that this has happened. Our country has become a banana republic. People die when the police and MACC take them.

  7. Dear Tengku,

“Meanwhile, we await more information from the ongoing police investigation.”

Do you still believe in the “Investigation”. In Malaysia, where Police and Ah-Long are one big family. AG act like UNMO lawyer, Judges pass out dubious Judgement. You still waiting for police to invetigate.

Dear Sir, when Kugan death there were two sets of conflicting autopsy reports….

When Teoh was interogate till 4am. Khir sleep in his balinese Mansion soudly….What to investigate.

I do not trust the entire law enforcement units. Good people died, bad people enjoy live in Malaysia… You still waiting for investigation…… ha…. what a laughable joke…..

  8. Come on Kuli, you can say more than that.
Why the need to question a witness till 4am?
Why raid the Opposition Excos but never UMNO Excos?
Why is MACC acting as UMNO lapdogs?

AND WHY ARE YOU STILL WITH UMNO – AN EVIL PARTY THAT WORSHIPS THE DEVIL AND MONEY.

Please join the Opposition to save this country from this hungry, ravaging, murderous wolf called UMNO.

God will punish you if you fail to do what you should do as an elderly statesman.

  9. Wake Up Malaysians and Condolence to Teoh Beng Hock’s family…..

Dear Fellow Malaysians, May Teoh Beng Hock’s soul RIP and our heartfelt condolence to his family? The truth will never be known except by TBH, those involved and almighty God? We can pour our anger and sadness but let’s pause a second for senses to sink in. TBH had gone to higher land and we the living Malaysians are still seeking Justice for All in our Boloved Land!

52 years of Power and All…. Will Not be handed over in a platter with the stroke of a pencil at the GE when there is everything to loose by those in Power? Let us ask ourselves, have our wannabe PM/DPM and the full cabinet in waiting been doing enough to protect The Rakyat and Malaysia when TBH (a fellow POLITICIAN for CHANGE) seems to be the Lone Ranger in facing the full force of MACC in such a high profile “CASE”?

The decision on PPSMI by BN and the subsequent outpour of dissent by certain politicians from both BN and PR met with resounding NO from the DPM cum Education Minister and yet our legendary supposedly senile XPM and some call him the evil of all ills faced by our country today continued to fight the call of THE RAKYAT and MALAYSIA?

If there is any humility and sense of care and love remain by our Leaders, my wish is for our Leaders from BN and PR to join force to make a real change for the good of The Rakyat and Malaysia.

The Street in the NST, again highlighted issues faced by strata title purchasers in Kepong under Act 663, where single purchaser’s appointed Proxy had been turned away by unscrupulous JMB from attending JMB’s AGM and to exercise their rights. At the 2nd July 2009 (Thursday) AGM held by City One JMB (JMB 081/2008), The Chairman even instructed legitimate fully paid proxy holder and purchaser to leave the AGM for raising questions and to seek clarification from The Chairman on issues faced under Act 663? Section 8(1)(g) of Act 663 states that audited accounts is to be provided for the information of the purchasers, but The Chairman tabled a set of audited accounts dated 27 June 2009 for City One JMB for the period ended 30 April 2009 signed by 2 Joint Treasurers as JMC members with the auditors’ report to The Management of City One JMB? The audited accounts were given to the purchasers present at the AGM itself? When queried, whether the audited accounts are for the purchasers according to Act 663, the appointed auditor replied why we are holding the audited accounts then?

It is obvious that The JMB had not complied with Act 663 and a dialogue with the purchasers, DBKL/developer/Ministry/JMB/MP must be held to resolve the issues. MCOC just like so many strata title purchasers are looking forward to the authorities and Minister to bring justice to all purchasers.

Act 663 clearly states the final authority rest with the respective Head of State, PR which control 5 but lost 1 state, with 2 states with high density of Strata Title properties, must surely have incidences of similar abuses by unscrupulous developers/JMBs/Local Authorities, could surely be able to deliver to bring Justice to The Rakyat by exercising their authority and good office to settle the long term sufferings and woes of the purchasers and The Rakyat.

To our wannabe PM/DPM/Cabinet Ministers from PR in waiting, and not forgetting in authority MB/CM from PR plus want to CHANGE BN leaders in power, use your wisdom and good office to serve The Rakyat Right Now.

Let’s us ALL observe 1 MINUTE silence as a mark of respect for Teoh Beng Hock, and may his untimely demise be not in vain?

People First. Performance Now for The Rakyat and Malaysia.

(12 years is too long for The Abuses in MCOC to remain unresolved!)

  10. Dear Tengku ,
The circumstance leading to Teoh’s death is outrageous, I urge you to use your influence to ensure that no stones are unturned to find out the truth, nothing but the truth.

  11. Dear Tengku,

Please tell me if what I heard is true. If it is, please use your political position to do something to help Malaysians. You are among the handful left who is level headed and fair to Malaysians. Hope you continue to be fair to Malaysians regardless of colour and creed.

A Malaysian friend who has a relative working in the police force told me this long ago…during our University days in the UK:

If the police has killed the victim under their custody, they will push the body down the building to make the death appear as a suicide. This is a clever cover-up for the police. A very neat solution they have come up with since they know the best cover up to deflect blame away. Then, they can answer “I don’t know” to all the questions raised by the public and the victim’s family.

If during a car chase, the police has shot one victim, the remaining victims will also be shot. Otherwise, the remaining victims can act as witness. This way, the case can be closed out neatly….no messy trails and remnants.

I hope the police and interrogators will get to have a taste of their own medicine real soon. Then they can feel how Teoh’s family feel. I hope the loved ones of the police and interrogators will suffer “mysterious” death or better still, suffer from terminal illness.

  12. My dearest YBM Tengku,
It appears to me that our dearest PM has nothing better to do but to cause havoc in Malaysia in his series of attempt to “rampas kuasa” in the states governed by Pakatan. My deepest sympathy to Mr. Teoh’s family… salam.

  13. Dear Tengku,

Ever since I read of the MACC death, I have been surfing and reading every blog possible (pro-Umno/pro-PR) to get some sense of balance. When things like this happen, it does not matter if you are Malay, Chinese or Indian because this is an issue affecting an institution of the country.

However, what you wrote – though short – unlike the other blogs gives me some hope and sanity that there is a Malay leader like you who behaves like a statesman and understand that something is really wrong with the system. You may not realize it – your short write up – not touching upon the identity of the victim’s political affiliation, ethinicity and pre-judging the reasons of the outcome has given you far more credibility than the political spins in Utusan/rocky etc.

The other point is the response – from Nazri, Muhyiddin and Najib – they are making a mockery of the meaning of Malay leadership. How did we ended up being where we are now? What has happened to our leaders, where is the Malay leadership that points out and guide us from this sort of mess. Partisanship and race colours everything.

Reading the Umno blogs such as mykmu.net, rockybru, I feel my gut choke with revulsion and anger with the sort of crap that comes out of such blogs.

I struggle very hard to maintain the view that Malaysia can survive and solve its racial problems rationally and in peace. Tengku, even though you are no longer part of the political “flavour of the moment”, there are still many people who look up to you for leadership. What you write and say does make a difference.

  14. I think, maybe rightly, that many malaysians now feel like a giant piggy bank by the govenrment and businesses.
Nobody cares about protecting the Rakyat anymore. The name of the game is squeezing every last drop of life from the rakyat.
Developers get away scot free if houses ar not completed.
managers of condominiums do and charge whatever and however they want.
despite lower energy bills, Tenaga will raise the cost of electricity. The irony is that, those who cheat on electricity bills now do not have to pay a cent if their if their modified meters indicate usage of less than RM20/month.
No wonder malaysians feel so depressed whenever they hear someone has decided to migrate or work overseas.
Now, to make it even worse, the police and MACC can kill anyone with impunity, charge them or worse, use ISA on those who question their wrong doing.
The elites, such as the monarchy must elevate themselves above race and religion, like the recent child conversion controversy. their rule include states of sabah and sarawak, which are monarchy free for several generaions now.
I am only interested in those who will provid justice and righteous rule. Not those who triumph on racial and religious issues.

  15. Sir

I am in agreement with comment by shamadz72 above.

Many readers, myself included, thought we saw a ray of hope in the way you articulated your views in this blog. Not a few of us pleaded with you to help make Malaysia a better place by taking a stance consistent with what you expressed so well here. I regret that the hopes brought high turns out to be empty histrionics; exacerbating the gloom felt by the rakyat. Your continuing association with this morally reprehensible regime condemns you to the same league as those with blood on their hands.

It is time to ‘walk the talk’ and dissociate from UMNO and in so doing help open the eyes of those who are still blind to the hapless state of the nation. You would at least have done the morally conscionable thing!

May Allah have mercy and guide you.

  16. Dear Tengku,
I have totally loss conident to any kind of investigation team set up to investigate the case. I don’t think there will be any result come out. Such as PKFZ, Lingam case, Alantuya case, ther will all buried without the truth find out. Malaysia government institution are totally failed. Sometimes, I’m thinking should I pay tax as the tax money will end up wasted & corrupted? Is UNMO is still worth for you to defend for? You should come out to save malaysia, not unmo only.
